Missouri CNA Training
In Missouri, aspiring Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) are required to undergo a state-approved training program as mandated by the Omnibus Nursing Home Act and Section 198.082, RSMo, 1994. The training is structured to prepare individuals for employment in long-term care facilities, teaching essential skills in resident care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. The state-approved course mandates 75 hours of classroom training, 100 hours of on-the-job training, followed by a two-part final examination. The curriculum covers a range of topics including basic nursing skills, fire safety, disaster training, resident safety and rights, and methods of caring for mentally confused residents such as those with Alzheimer’s disease.
