Montana Nurse Aide Training
State-Approved Training: Montana requires aspiring CNAs to complete a training program approved by the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services. This program must consist of at least 75 hours, including a minimum of 16 hours of supervised clinical training.
Montana CNA Competency Exam: Following successful completion of the training program, candidates must take and pass the Montana Nurse Aide Competency Examination. This test is divided into two components: a written (or oral) segment, and a practical skills assessment. The competency exam in Montana is administered by D&S Diversified Technologies LLP (Headmaster Testing Service).
Enrollment in the State Registry: Once the competency exam has been passed, the CNA’s name is added to the Montana Nurse Aide Registry. This signifies that they are certified to work as a CNA in the state of Montana.
Background Check: A mandatory criminal background check is required for all healthcare workers in Montana, including CNAs. This ensures the safety of patients and residents in healthcare settings.
