How to Become a CNA in Illinois
Complete Training
You must finish a Basic Nursing Assistant Training Program (BNATP) that includes at least 80 hours of instruction, which encompasses both classroom and clinical practice.
Pass Competency Exam
Pass the Illinois Nurse Aide Competency Exam, which is administered by Southern Illinois University at Carbondale (SIU-C). This exam consists of both a written test and a manual skills test.
