How to become a CNA in New Jersey
Complete a State-Approved CNA Training Course
New Jersey requires a total of 90 hours of CNA training from a state-approved program. This includes 50 hours of classroom instruction and 40 hours of clinical training.
Pass the NJ CNA Exam
Pass a clinical skills test and a written (or oral) knowledge test. The skills test includes hand washing and four randomly chosen skills. You must pass the skills test before taking the knowledge test.
